Lily was welped November 10, 2005 by Pat Loomis of Alibi Kennels and has now found a home at Edgewood Kennels.

Dax was whelped March 25, 1996. He was the talk of his puppy socialization class since he was the only WPG in the class and the first one they had seen! The instructor was the only one who knew!! At six months , Dax took a Best of Breed (with competition!!) in his first conformation show. What an exciting way to start out in the dog fancy.Dax's love of the Hunt was apparent from day one. Here he is at 6 months checking out one of the Pheasants from the days hunt.

In 1999, Dax put his talents to use during the "Women’s Pheasant Hunting Workshop" hosted by the California Fish & Game.  Dax with Shelli as the handler, were with a group of dogs and handlers who went out with some women who had never had a chance to hunt before and spent the day hunting pheasant.  Dax had a great time and the women were so excited to watch a dog work and to be able to shoot some pheasant.

Dax has also been a participant in the  "Advanced Institute on the Sporting Breeds", sponsored by the AKC and the
" Dog Judges Association of America".  This gave the opportunity for about 60 different judges to look, touch and compare WPG’s in their conformation.

  • AKC Champion of Record
  • NAVHDA  Prize I  Natural Ability (112points)
  • OFA- GOOD (WG-863G24F-T)

Haley was whelped June 10, 1997. She was a typical Griff puppy, happy, full of energy, curious about all that went on around her, and very loving. Haley grew quickly. Soon it was hunt season. It was an hour into our first time out and after the older dogs had a few good points that we realized that the gun shots didn't bother her in the least!! She had already learned that shots meant something really good was going to hit the ground. Haley's "Natural Ability Test" was in Oregon, May 2, 1998. She was 11 months old and performed like a champ, a perfect 112!!  I'm sure it was a full month before our feet hit the ground again. Haley has also done well in the Show Ring. From the puppy class she took BOB over 2 specials in the Del Valle show in Pebble Beach May 16, 1998. She finished with a 4 point major in Oregon June 27,1999.

Haley was a participant in the AKC’s Sporting Dog Seminar in California where approximately 60 judges were able to see and compare WPG’s conformation.  It was a wonderful opportunity to show off the breed.  With the WPG being a fairly rare breed, it is not often that a judge gets to see very many in the show ring at one time.
